PSR was founded in 1961 to address the profound risk to human health from nuclear weapons testing and proliferation. Now celebrating it's 50th year, PSR is a national not- for - profit, public policy organization that asserts a strong medical voice on security, energy and environmental health issues through education and advocacy. PSR has a grassroots network of thirty affiliate chapters across the country, forty medical students chapters, and over 50,000 members and e-activist regularly engaged on PSR's issues. PSR is the affiliate of International Physicians for the Prevention of Nuclear War, recipient of the 1985 Nobel Peace Prize.
