About Us

The mission of TCEP is to work for social justice by increasing the capacity and participation of Little Village residents in the formation of a more united, better educated, safer, and social prepared community.

In 1998, a committed group of parents and educators formed the Telpochcalli Community Education Project (TCEP) to address the lack of cultural and educational resources available to families at Telpochcalli School and the larger Little Village community. Initially organized as a coalition of community residents and institutions advocating for the construction of a multi-purpose cultural facility adjacent to the school, TCEP has since become an innovative non-profit organization. Our mission is to work for social justice by increasing the capacity and participation of Little Village residents in the formation of a more united, educated, safer, and social prepared community.
