Description

Youth Empowerment Services (YES) is a 501(c)3 corporation formed in June 1999 by the Board of the YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School. YES builds on the history and expertise developed by YouthBuild in operating a high quality educational program for high school dropouts in Philadelphia. Since its inception, YES has pursued the mission of developing a broad base of educational, vocational, and recreational opportunities for out-of-school and at-risk youth in Philadelphia. YES has designed and is in the process of implementing several comprehensive, youth engagement and support initiatives. Each initiative is a complement to the capacity building work we continue to do -- including teacher and curriculum development, city-wide youth development systems building for vulnerable youth, and university-community collaborations.
