Our mission
Farmigo is a start-up and B-Corporation dedicated to creating a healthy alternative food system for generations to come. Through our interactive food network and community we enable connections between consumers and farmers that build long lasting, trusting relationships within local communities. We believe that every person has the right to fresh, local, affordable and sustainable food.
How it all started
Farmigo was founded on the belief that locally grown, organic food is healthier and more sustainable for the community and the environment. We asked ourselves how can we help make locally grown food more accessible and affordable so that it becomes the obvious choice for everyone. The answer was Economy of Community -- When small complementary farms in the same geographic area collaborate with one another in a simple and efficient way, the food needs of the local community are met and the farms can continue to develop and prosper.
The Farmigo team, made up of passionate systems thinkers partnered with farmers to marry the strengths of two disciplines: technology and farming. Together, we built a platform that allows people to support local farms by buying their harvest directly. The Farmigo online food network provides consumers with an easy way to subscribe to a local farm and get fresh food delivered to a convenient pick up location.
Where we are today
Through Farmigo, over 1 million healthy family meals have been made possible for consumers across the nation. Hundreds of farms use Farmigo to manage their community supported agriculture (CSA) program and deliver fresh vegetables, fruit, meat, fish and eggs to over 3,100 community pick up locations. We're continuing to grow with more families and more farms joining daily.
