Description

It is the objective of the Engineers Without Borders Northern New Jersey Professionals Chapter (EWB-NNJ) to implement sustainable development projects in communities around the world with the purpose of improving the standard of living and to empower communities. Community development projects involve environmentally and economically sustainable engineering projects.

In addition to working on the design and implementation of development projects, EWB-NNJ members serve as mentors for local student chapters to ensure technical integrity and foster social responsibility and global awareness.

Our members are committed to the Engineers Without Borders vision of a world in which all communities have the capacity to meet their basic human needs.

It is the combination of good design and social understanding that leads to sustainability of a project. The world is littered with the rotting and rusting remnants of people's good intentions. For us, follow-up and continuing commitment to a community, not just on completing projects is what makes EWB different and special in the NGO world.
