The School Club Zambia is a Zambian Non-Governmental Organisation which exists to support community schools and their pupils. We provide technical support, networking opportunities and start-up capital for community schools to start or scale-up social enterprises.
Our network works to enable community schools in Zambia to upscale and improve the amazing services they have been providing to vulnerable children and youth for the last decade. We believe we can provide this support to community schools by assisting them to become financially self-sufficient through school run social enterprises and by reducing their isolation from other community schools.
We do this by -
1. Providing financial and technical support to community schools who wish to start or expand school run social enterprises, making it possible in the long-term for schools to become financially self-sufficient (Teach a Man to Fish Model).
2. Organising events where community schools can come together to share their ideas on social enterprises and their experiences of diversifying the skills they develop in their community, particularly in regards to tourism and the environmentally friendly market
3. Linking community schools with mentor community schools who will already have successful experience in starting and maintaining social enterprises.
The School Club Zambia ultimately exists for the children and youth who attend community schools, to ensure that they receive an education and social support which will enable them as adults to reach their full potential.
