Description

The Los Angeles Museum of the Holocaust has a two-fold mission that has remained constant since its founding in 1961: Commemoration and Education.

Commemoration Our Museum was founded by the Survivor community of Los Angeles as a haven for the few precious artifacts that miraculously weathered the war, the ghettos, and, ultimately, the death camps. As such, the Museum dedicates itself as a primary source institution, one that houses original photographs, documents, and artifacts.

Education Our Museum is unique because it presents visitors with the experience of true interactive learning in an intimate environment. We are the only Jewish/Holocaust organization in Los Angeles which guarantees dialogue with an actual Survivor. Because of free admission, the Museum is a popular destination for under funded schools.
