Description

Beginning in 1912, Catholic Medical Mission Board (CMMB) is the leading U.S.-based Catholic-charity focusing exclusively on global healthcare, particularly the well-being of women and children.

Our work is guided by international health realities. We focus on HIV/AIDS, malaria, maternal and child health, neglected tropical disease, and other country-specific priorities. Our objective is to develop sustainable local capacity to address major healthcare needs and build strong systems. We accomplish this through :

  • addressing the shortage of qualified medical professionals in the developing world through our Medical Volunteer Program (MVP)
  • responding to the shortage of quality medicines and primary healthcare products in resource-poor countries through our Healing Help program

and

  • running our own healthcare programs in the developing world around the issues of HIV/AIDS, Maternal and Child Health, Neglected Tropical Diseases and Other Country-Specific Priorities
