Founded in 1878 as University of California's first law school, Hastings College of the Law has been at the center of the legal community in the West. In addition to legal practice that covers the entire spectrum of law, Hastings graduates sit as judges on the California bench by a 3-to-1 margin over any other law school. The college is nationally known for its five concentrations for advanced study in taxation, litigation, international and comparative law, family and public interest law. It also has opportunities to work on seven highly revered scholarly publications, nine outstanding legal clinics, and a moot court training program that regularly produces national championship teams for appellate advocacy competition.
