About Us

The mission of the International Center for Religion & Diplomacy (ICRD) is to prevent or resolve identity-based conflicts by incorporating religious concerns into the practice of international politics. It does so by bridging the religious and political spheres in support of peacemaking and by deploying inter-religious action teams to troublespots where conflict threatens or has already broken out. Central to the Center's approach is its ability to capitalize on the positive role that religious leaders and institutions can play in building trust and overcoming differences. By bringing this factor to bear, the Center is able to reach beyond traditional diplomacy in dealing with religious hostilities, ethnic conflict, and tribal warfare.
