About Us

We help people help pets. Help generally centers around the needs of Japan's stray and abandoned pets, but we also help problem solve to keep pets in homes. We have a network of volunteers all over Japan, working to help animals and people helping animals in their own communities. Volunteers run 2 no kill shelters. Our original shelter is located in Shiga prefecture, and is a cat only facility. Our second shelter is located in Fukushima, includes both dogs and cats, and was set up in response to the 2011 earthquake and tsunami in northern Japan. We have helped care for left behind pets as well as livestock in evacuated areas, and have rescued/sheltered/rehomed more than 450 animals since we arrived in the area in March, 2011. We continue to help local volunteers to feed and rescue animals in the disaster effected areas.
