About us

PTCN Philosophy and Values

Welcome to Professional Therapeutic Community Network. We are a community-based organization committed to meet the needs of individuals who are sexually aggressive and have developmental disabilities or borderline IQ. PTCN believes that every person should enjoy the same rights enjoyed by other members of their community provided they can manage their sexual behavior, work treatment and not hurt others. They need to be taught to be responsible for these rights, and to respect the rights of other community members. It is PTCN's belief that even people with the most severe disabilities can be integrated into positive community settings, and that the levels of support should balance individual needs with community safety.

It is the mission of PTCN to expand the horizons and enhance the quality of life for those we support. PTCN will do this in part by providing our clients with training and support opportunities required for the maximum level of integration. PTCN views integration as encompassing the total spectrum of physical and social environments, skills in managing independence, and personal security both in the home and community. In addition, PTCN will work to facilitate and maintain ongoing relationships with guardians, friends, and community members.

As an organization, PTCN does not discriminate against any individual on any basis. PTCN feel strongly that all individuals should have the right of choice provided that they do not hurt others sexually. PTCN believe that individuals have the privilege and right to live and recreate in an environment that is safe for them and the community.
