Casa-Nica is a small NGO recently founded in Nicaragua. We provide volunteering opportunities in existing, locally owned and run community organizations and Spanish classes. Our aim is to benefit both the volunteers and these community projects through working together in a shared language.
Casa-Nica is a fresh, new style of international NGO located in Masaya, Nicaragua (known as the "cultural basin" of this beautiful sub-tropical country) that works with a multitude of Nicaraguan organizations and nonprofits in a variety of exciting and contemporary fields such as sustainable agriculture, non-traditional and traditional education, empowerment technology, micro-finance assistance, altruistic marketing, exotic animal care, cultural immersion and exchange, and is currently developing a medical volunteer program. Casa-Nica is unique in that we believe that, unlike many foreign NGO's that tend to impose their own agendas and waste precious resources in the process, the best way to do development work is by contributing to and working with preexisting organizations started and run by the Nicaraguans themselves. Our development and funding model allows us to stay strings-free and helps us earn genuine credibility among the Nicaraguan communities. We believe that this type of model should be the way international development organizations are run and hope to be the first successful one of its kind.In addition we provide in Spanish classes from out qualified Chilean language teacher in order to provide the best possible experience to our volunteers. You will be able to more fully enjoy your time here as your language improves and you are able to communicate with the Nicaraguans.
