About Us

The Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department shall exist to serve the leisure and recreational needs of the residents and tourists of the county. We will strive to be a leader in providing well-maintained, high quality passive park facilities, excellent programs and services, and the preservation of green space to enhance the quality of life in the county. The Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department deals mostly with providing open space, nature programming and special events. It maintains over 10 parks and 1300 acres of green space. Some of the more popular parks include: Cool Creek Park, White River Campground, and Strawtown-Koteewi Park.

The Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department offers many volunteer opportunities for interested individuals, family's and/or groups. Some of these are, but not limited to, scout programs, adult and senior programs, school field trips, Mothers day brunch and the Cool Creek Summer Concert Series.
