About Us

We are Christ the King Service Corps. Living simply in a community of faith, we reach out in service to all people in our neighborhood, regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, age or status, to instill hope and create a brighter future for Detroit and its residents.

Drawing from across the nation, CKSC places college graduates in community-based agencies throughout the City of Detroit. CKSC members serve within schools, food pantries, soup kitchens, homeless shelters, and other ministries dedicated to social justice and improving neighborhoods. CKSC volunteers live in intentional community in a house in Northwest Detroit and receive room, board, health insurance, use of a community car, a small monthly stipend, and the opportunity to engage with others in a meaningful way.

"We must restore hope to young people, help the old, be open to the future, spread love. Be poor among the poor. We need to include the excluded and preach peace." --Pope Francis
