Housing Works National Advocacy & Organizing

Washington, DC

About Us

Based in New York, Housing Works is a healing community for people living with and affected by HIV/AIDS. Our mission is to end the dual crisis of homelessness and AIDS. We do this through relentless advocacy, the provision of life-saving services, and entrepreneurial businesses that sustain our efforts. Housing Works also serves as the fiscal agent and is a supporter of the Campaign to End AIDS, a 50-state grassroots organizing and advocacy network led by people living with HIV/AIDS, and dedicated to demanding public and private action to end the epidemic here in the United States and worldwide. More information on the web at www.housingworks.org and www.campaigntoendaids.org.

Housing Works’s national office in Washington, DC, oversees a multi-pronged effort to galvanize people living with and affected by AIDS from around the country. Housing Works’ national staff members regularly lobby members of Congress on legislation affecting people with HIV/AIDS, and play a visible and key role in the ongoing rollout of President Obama’s National HIV/AIDS Strategy. Additionally, in collaboration with the National AIDS Housing Coalition, Housing Works’ national advocacy team also works to show that housing is an essential tool in the prevention and treatment of HIV/AIDS.
