iReform, a 501 (c)(3) nonprofit organization, exists to educate, organize, and mobilize thousands of Newark parents and community members in support of an aggressive education-­‐reform agenda. iReform’s non-­‐negotiable goal is to change public policy affecting Newark’s public schools and to drive district operations in a direction focused on our children’s best interests.

iReform exists to respond to two alarming deficiencies in public education that significantly impact Newark Public Schools:

• Urban districts serve a disproportionate number of America’s children

• Deficiencies in America’s public schools are especially pronounced in urban districts

iReform believes Newark can become a leading urban school district by closing achievement gaps. Doing this requires significant community support driven by advocacy efforts. Building this support is iReform’s mission.
