(Building Educated Leaders for Life) is a nonprofit that partners with schools
and community organizations to expand learning opportunities for struggling
students in grades K-8.

works closely with parents, schools, and communities to target students and
families with the greatest academic and economic needs.

academic instruction, social and cultural enrichment, and parent and community
engagement. Teachers and educators work together to deliver
data-driven instruction aligned to in-school learning. Hands-on
enrichment courses in the sciences, creative arts, and character development,
coupled with field trips and service projects, reinforce academic skills and
inspire scholars to pursue future college and career goals.

growing partnership with the YMCA of the USA and its national network of
associations has brought the Power Scholars AcademyTM,
modeled after BELL Summer, to 21 new communities over the last three
partnerships with more than 100 schools and community organizations, more than
14,000 scholars are participating in BELL programs in 35 communities across 21
states, including the District of Columbia.
