Description

Want to teach English abroad but need your certification to teach English as a foreign language?

Smaller Earth's Language College in Prague offers a Teaching English as a Foreign Language course which will prepare you to become a certified TEFL teacher - capable of teaching in exotic destinations all around the world. Spend four weeks learning current teaching methodologies, gaining valuable teaching experience, networking with colleagues, and exploring Prague - a city renowned for its culture, history, and first class nightlife.

Upon successful completion of the course, you can either choose to stay in Prague and find a job teaching English there OR you can combine this certification with one of our other teaching jobs around the world.

This program provides you with an incredible experience of living in Prague while furthering your professional career by gaining a Teaching English as a Foreign Language certification. You will learn practical teaching methodology, grammar skills, interview skills, public speaking skills, and have the opportunity to practice teaching with actual Czech students. By the end of the four weeks you will feel competent and confident to travel anywhere in the world and teach English as a lifelong profession or just a paid Gap Year!

The Smaller Earth Language College TEFL course has been designed to offer you an advantage over other TEFL programs as you will receive more than 10 hours of real teaching experience (other programs offer 6 to 8 hours) and this is the only program where you work with a range of ages - including preschool!

The course is comprised of a morning session, lunch, and an afternoon session before you teach Czech students early evening. Intermixed in the day is time to explore the city and hang out with your fellow participants:

9:30AM - Noon: Morning Session (Grammar review, lesson preparation techniques, teaching methodology)

One Hour Lunch Break

1PM - 4PM: Afternoon Session (Czech language lessons, lesson preparation time, phonology lessons)

5PM - 8PM: Teaching Czech students/student obeservations

These four weeks are intensive and designed to create top notch teachers ready to make it in the teaching field. Grades for the course are a result of completion of homework exercises, teacher observations, participation in discussions, attendance, student evaluations, and the final exam. All students must pass the grammar test with an 80% or above to successfully complete this course.
