Description

The Duke Global Health Institute is pleased to offer the Global Health Certificate to undergraduate and graduate students. Courses in the Global Health Certificate Program address two interrelated goals:

  • to provide future leaders with tools both to synthesize current knowledge in new ways and to formulate innovative solutions to achieve improvement in the quality of health for underserved populations; and
  • to create the requisite interdisciplinary approach that will improve the understanding of global health issues.

The requirement of relevant fieldwork complements students' intellectual development with a practical understanding of global health issues. The program capitalizes on Duke's diverse strengths in medicine, law, nursing, policy, environment, business, and arts and sciences. It spans the continuum of basic sciences to applied sciences, resulting in an interdisciplinary approach to global health.
