Free ACT Prep for Low-Income Youth

Program description

This course will be offered semi-annually for all youth enrolled in the AHS Employment Program.

The first ACT Prep Course starts this Saturday, February 16th for all juniors scheduled to take the ACT in April. The course will run for 6-weeks as detailed below:

ACT PREP COURSE OUTLINE

Thursdays 5-7p (Excluding 1st Saturday Class)

Saturday, February 16th 10:30am-3pm (Breakfast Provided)

  • Full Practice Test - 4 hours

  • Review Practice Test Scores
  • Introduction to the ACT
  • ACT English Test Prep
  • Pass out Math Homework: Due Thursday, February 28th

Thursday, February 28th

  • Review Math Homework
  • ACT Math Test Prep
  • Pass out Reading Homework: Due Thursday, March 7th

Thursday, March 7th

  • Review Reading Homework
  • ACT Reading Test Prep
  • Pass out Science Homework: Due Thursday, March 14th

How to participate

All youth must be considered low income, between the ages of 16-21, and join the Asian Human Services WIA Youth Program.

This program will provide teens with job readiness skills, college prep, financial literacy prep, after school tutoring, along with program perks such as transportation services.
