Program description

Don't Have the Kids Stop Going Outside. Winter Is Full of Wonder and Learning!

Winter is almost here. Why not have the kids discover its wonders by exploring the outdoors? They can do that on the trails of the beautiful Larchmont Reservoir Conservancy. Just bundle them up, so they can find out what happens here during the crisp season!

They'll go on nature hunts to explore and make discoveries. Who's awake and who's asleep? They'll find winter birds, insects, egg cases (even butterflies), and, look for rabbits, deer, mice, chipmunks and squirrels. If there's snow, they'll look for tracks and try to think about what animals might have made them. Don't worry… they'll also be indoors at the nature center where it's nice and cozy… for story time, eco-crafts and more. This winter, the kids ages 3 to 8 can have these great experiences at Sheldrake's December Vacation Camp, running Monday through Friday, 12/24 to 12/28 (no class on 12/25).

Don't have the kids stop going outside this winter. It's full of wonder and learning – you just have to get out there and get into it!
