Program description

Master's Degree in Applied Community Change with a concentration in Peacebuilding

Recruiting Students for the Next Class to Begin November 2013. Applications Due August 15, 2013

Future Generations Graduate School (www.future.edu), founded in 2003 and accredited by the US Higher Learning Commission (NCA) in 2010, offers a two-year Master's Degree in Applied Community Change with concentrations in conservation and peacebuilding. Students and alumni have come from 33 countries.

Distinctive about this Master's is that students:

  • Remain in their own countries and on the job with their own organizations and communities
  • Take online courses, complemented by a one-month site residential every term (Term I - India, Term II - Kenya, Term III - Haiti, Term IV - USA)
  • Gain research skills through a two-year applied practicum that answers a question of local priority with support from a personal mentor
  • Learn from global peers and outstanding examples of community-led peace building and conservation

Future Generations Graduate School offers its peacebuilding Master's concentration in partnership with the U.S. Institute of Peace.

Please note that with scholarship funds from the late Mrs. Kathryn W. Davis, the Graduate School is in a position to offer a scholarship match to organizations that seek to enroll their most promising staff and partners. With a 50 percent scholarship match, total tuition costs are $17,500 over two years or $8,750 a year for two years, plus travel costs to attend the international field residentials. Applications are due August 15, 2013 for a class that begins November 2013.
