OTHER INFO ABOUT AREA

Urubamba is a beautiful place situated in the Sierra at 9,420ft/2871 m. It is a cheap place to live with a wonderful market with fresh produce all the time. It is close to Ollantaytambo and Pisac, as well as, the other ruins along the valley. It is the perfect place to stay to go trekking and visit the local sites. It is also relatively close to Machu Picchu and can be one of the cheapest options if you wish to visit. Internet is plentiful and the climate is temperate. The rainy season from Nov – April is full of sunny days and showers, making the valley a green Eden of abundance. In the dry season you can enjoy hot cloudless days and star filled nights by the fire. Bring lots of layers as the days can be boiling hot and the nights a little chilly in the dry season.
