The Development Project Management Institute (DPMI) is a professional certificate program for those seeking training for careers in humanitarian relief, emergency response, poverty alleviation, and long-term community development. The intensive training is closely linked to the United Nations Millennium Development Goals, a driving force in the development field. These modules include (1) Managing Development Projects, (2) Strategic Partnership and Social Entrepreneurship, and (3) Facilitation and Participatory Development. DPMI uses a cross-sector approach, taking best practices from the development field and combining these tools with successful concepts drawn from the private sector.
DPMI instructors include Dr. Beryl Levinger, Chair of the Public Administration Program at the Monterey Institute of International Studies, Dr. Evan Bloom, co-founder of Root Change, and Dr. Seth Pollack, Director of the Service Learning Institute at California State University, Monterey Bay.
DPMI is open to development professionals, career-changers, graduate students, and a limited number of gifted undergraduates.
