Program

Program posted by: Center for Ecological Living and Learning (CELL)

Posted on: October 31, 2012

Program description

Are you interested in learning how to live sustainably while being of service to others? Are you interested in making a real difference in the world while studying abroad? Would you like to take a leadership role in encouraging local and global sustainability? Our interdisciplinary study abroad programs will inspire you with a new vision of what is possible and will spur you to become the change you wish to see in the world.

Learning is not a spectator sport. Join CELL on a once-in-a-lifetime experience in Iceland! The hands-on adventure will include lessons from our local partners:

  • Solheimar: an eco-village of about 100 people renowned for its international, artistic, and ecological atmosphere. Solheimar is the first self-sufficient community of its kind in the world where people with special needs and those without live and work together in a community committed to environmental sustainability.

This 12-week, 15-credit program provides an interdisciplinary, hands-on approach to issues of sustainability.
