Program description

Do you enjoy nature and working outdoors? Do you want to make a difference this summer? Kupu's Hawaii Youth Conservation Corps is now accepting applications for their 2013 summer Gateway Program. Positions include team member, for youth ages 17 to 20, and team leader, for those age 21 and over. The summer Gateway Program is a seven-week program where participants take part in hands-on service learning and conservation work. Participants will gain work experience and knowledge about the environment while working in the some of the most beautiful ecosystems Hawaii has to offer. Positions are available on the islands of O'ahu, Kaua'i, Moloka'i, Lana'i, Hawai'i Island, and Maui. Members and leaders receive an educational award of $1,175 and leaders receive a living allowance of up to $4,000. Participants may also be eligible to apply for college credits. Program runs from June 3rd to July 19th. Team leaders start a week earlier.
