Philadelphia community, we need your support! Please donate used computers and computer equipment to YouthBuild Philadelphia Charter School's IT & Business Administration computer refurbishment program.
YouthBuild encourages out-of-school youth to become responsible, productive community citizens. Each year, 220 students are accepted into our program and receive academic instruction and vocational training in Building and Transportation Trades, Healthcare, or IT & Business Administration. Our students are part-time AmeriCorps members and complete at least 675 hours of community service. Since 1992, YouthBuild Philadelphia students have rehabilitated more than 70 homes for low-income families and first-time buyers, refurbished and installed more than 2,500 computers for community organizations and schools, and provided more than 4,000 hours of care to long-term residents of nursing homes.
Students in the IT & Business Administration program gain hands-on experience and complete community service hours by refurbishing used computers to donate to underserved community organizations and schools. To do so, we require old or broken equipment for the students to work on, and are asking you to donate used computers, accessories, and other hardware.
We accept computers with at least 1GB of memory and dual-core processors, and a variety of peripheral devices. All donations are tax deductible, and we will travel in the Philadelphia area to pick up equipment.
If you have computers or peripherals to donate, or may be upgrading your computer systems in the future, please contact mroberts [at] youthbuildphilly [dot] org
