The White Roof Project Inc. (WRP) is seeking a paid part-time Executive Director to be primarily responsible for running the organization. Join an exciting team of nonprofit entrepreneurs and help a growing and globalizing organization reach the next level.
WRP promotes simple tangible change in New York City and beyond. We encourage our friends and neighbors to go green by painting roofs white and introduce citizens and communities to the cost-saving and environmental advantages of white roof coating.
Since our founding in 2010, WRP has worked with over seventy-five community organizations and thousands of volunteers to organize and fund nonprofit and low-income rooftop painting projects, including the first white-roof model block in New York City. In the summer of 2012, WRP launched its Do-It-Yourself (DIY) program to encourage homeowners everywhere to coat their own roof white. Through the DIY program WRP reached homeowners in more than thirty countries and supporters across the U.S., advising white roofers from the Philippines to Canada. We educate and activate by turning a myriad of statistical data into easy-to-read, easy-to-understand instructions that breakdown the barriers to sustainability and allow new constituencies to join the white roof movement.
