Description

Our Mission is to cultivate new era participation and transparency in the collation and dissemination of governance issues information in Cameroon, and help the country to increasingly guarantee human rights and freedoms, and sustain democracy.

The Objectives are to:

Collate and disseminate governance issues information; Post some of the information on special interactive web sites for public consultations and debate; Update the information as necessary; Increase participation and transparency in governance issues information collation and dissemination; Inform decision making in government; Consolidate freedom in boosting literacy levels, educating democratic representation, improving public administration and the economy; and, Help transform ways of thinking and working with the Internet and related technologies in Cameroon.

Our approach is based on Cameroon's revised 1996 Constitution. Starting with the rights and freedoms enshrined in the Preamble of the Constitution, we scrutinize State arrangements for guaranteeing the rights and freedoms with the help of volunteers. We place emphasis on increasing participation observation and recording, using questionnaires and interactive exchanges generated in public debates in Parliament, the media and also on the Internet. We provide forums for dialogue between the public and private sectors, and promote dialogue between political parties, as their interests in governance issues intertwine. This way, we provide evidence (some of it from digital, interactive Internet consultations) and generate debate on ways in and extents to which the State accomplishes its mission in Cameroon.
