Need Fiscal (Agent) Sponsor

Created on: December 10, 2010

Posted by: Homes for the Upwardly Mobile

Description

Homes for the Upwardly Mobile (HUM) is seeking a fiscal sponsor, which is already performing aspects of affordable housing development, which can offer HUM "immediate" status as a subchapter 905 entity, under that non-profit's 501(c)3 status.

The non-profit which offers HUM this status would ideally be in California and be operational for at least 2-3 years, performing substantial development or rehabilitation work. If the non-profit has ties to HUD already, it would be so much better than not.

What HUM can add to the equation is a fee paid to the non-profit, which would range from 8-12% of all fund-raising done on the part of HUM, using the 501(c)3 number designated by the IRS to that non-profit.

At the same time, HUM would be expanding the capacity of the non-profit by performing on it's behalf, albeit under the name of HUM itself, for a period into the future of about 2 or possibly 3 years.

If your non-profit already provides services under the aegis of fiscal sponsorship to other organizations in the process of establishing their mission as a non-profit and is approved by the IRS and preferably the State of California, please contact HUM for further discussion. If your non-profit does not already provide fiscal sponsorship to any other non-profit but would like to consider the added income stream, fellowship and prestige by assisting in the development of the HUM program, please contact HUM.

Thank you, Gary R Cook, executive director, Homes for the Upwardly Mobile
