Resource description

The Vistex Foundation is a private foundation launched in 2012 through the support of Sanjay Shah, the founder of Vistex, Inc. We are committed to addressing the root causes of poverty by partnering with organizations whose programs provide education and health services to communities in need.

Current health funding priorities:

  • Health Clinics: programs and healthcare clinics servicing communities in need in the Chicagoland area, as well as programs bringing new healthcare facilities and services to communities in need in the developing world
  • Maternal Healthcare: scalable programs that focus on maternal and neonatal health; programs that provide childcare education to expectant parents
  • Nutrition and Exercise: programs that address both education of parents and children in these areas; programs that address availability of nutritious food

Current education funding priorities:

  • Equal Opportunity: programs that make sure low income students are not missing out on educational experiences, such as field trips and internships; de-stigmatization of poverty
  • Early Learning: programs that provide access to early education for low-income children; programs that provide prenatal and childcare education for parents

If you believe that your organization's needs may match our interests, we would like to invite you to write us a letter of inquiry. The guidelines for this letter are outlined below:

Letters of inquiry must be on your organization's letterhead and signed by a member of your staff who has the authority to accept and manage a grant.

In no more than two pages, please describe your organization and the work you plan to propose. Please address the following:

  • The amount you plan to request from the Vistex Foundation
  • What you plan to accomplish with the grant and why
  • How you plan to accomplish it
  • Who will implement the work
  • How your effort matches the Vistex Foundation grant-making priorities

Please include a program budget with your letter of interest as well.

When submitting a letter of inquiry, please keep in mind that the Vistex Foundation does not intend to fund individuals, private schools, or political/religious/fraternal organizations. Additionally, at this time we are not considering programs that are focused on the environment, arts & culture, or sports & recreation. All submitting organizations must have 501(c)3 non-profit status.

Grants range from $500 to $10,000 typically. Letters of Interest are accepted on a rolling basis. Due to the quantity of letters we receive we cannot guarantee a response to every inquiry. Applicants whose Letters of Interest meet our guidelines may be invited to submit an application for funding. The Vistex Foundation board makes funding decisions quarterly.

Letters should be emailed to info@VistexFoundation.org -or-
