About us

AId Through Trade is a social entreprise/fair-trade company founded in 1993 by a former Peace Corps volunteer in Nepal.

As one of the first members of the Fair Trade Federation nearly 20 years ago our mission is to create sustainable fair trade opportunities through innovative design of fashion accessories. We take a holistic and organic view of business as a way to grow good. We believe in business ethics, prosperity, opportunity, creativity, and health. Our focus is on design. Good designs sell, and sales support a better life for artisans.

While we primarily sell handcrafted jewelry made by our talented and ever growing team of women artisans in Nepal, we recently began to expand beyond jewelry. We now sell handmade cashmere and silk scarves/shawls made in Vietnam and handmade Lokta paper products from Nepal (paper made from renewable bush grown in the Himalayas). We expect to expand our line of products significantly over the next few years with everything we sell being fair trade.
