About Us

We design and build aquaponic gardens which are soilless recycling water gardens that break down fish waste using bacteria, converting this waste to plant nutrients. We also design and build Internet-based microprocessor controlled smart devices that monitor and control the gardens from anywhere in the world. Our soilless gardens means we can grow food in any environment whereas the smart controller means we can manage the farms remotely, for customer service or hands-free food production.

Our aquaponics smart controller devices actually sit on a powerful IOT platform with the ability to sense physical environments and send data to a remote database for monitoring. The IOT platform will also send commands to remote devices in physical environments. This means the smart controllers can be used for other applications such as environmental monitoring of remote locations, security, home automation, greenhouse control etc. over the Internet.

Over the summer we started our One School One Garden (OSOG) program using Web-based aquaponic gardens to promote STEM and environmental education. The project also aims to improve access to nutrition and eating habits around the world. Through the OSOG initiative, we partner with schools (K-12) in the United States and connect them with organizations in developing countries including schools, orphanages and community centers. By purchasing a Kijani Grows OSOG kit, American schools receive a Smart Aquaponics Garden and online-based curriculum to provide students with a unique hands-on learning experience. At the same time, a part of the purchase price will be used to send a similar Smart Aquaponics Garden to the school's partner organization. For the pilot project, we facilitated the collaboration between the PUEBLO program of Castlemont High School in Oakland, California and El Infinito in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala.
