We're a team of 13 people making chocolate and building a business in Red Hook, Brooklyn. We make bean-to-bar chocolate without roasting cacao, offering vibrant flavor that's closer to the cocoa bean.We're a social venture committed to making a fun and productive workplace that runs on respect and open, honest communication. We see values-driven business as a way to improve the world. Were committed to sourcing ingredients in ways that have positive, real social impact. We pay premiums to farmers through a direct trade model, and make trips to cocoa bean origins to work with our farmers to ensure fair working conditions and develop best practices that guarantee quality cacao. We also work to minimize our environmental footprint through green energy programs, and by using the entire bean including the husk which we donate to Edible Schoolyard, a local nonprofit that brings farm education to NYC Public Schools . And yes we sample chocolate all day long!
