A job:

I'd love a position with a forward-thinking organization in Seattle, particularly one that can make use of (and enhance) my writing/research skills. I'm interested in journalism and would love to learn to work with audio or visual media tools.

A volunteer opportunity:

I'll be taking classes in the morning at Seattle Central Community College which end by noon, and I will be looking for a job as well, but I am more than open to fitting in a volunteer position once my schedule has stabilized.

I've been involved with social justice and activism since 7th grade when I first joined School Girls Unite. School Girls Unite is am international, nonprofit, youth-led initiative to tackle prejudice against girls in developing countries. We raise money for individual scholarships for girls in Mali and we lobby Congress to pass laws in support of universal education. I am currently an intern and board member. I later became involved in the youth environmental movement through a community group called MCSEA (Montgomery County Student Environmental Activists) and then with a national organization called the Sierra Student Coalition. I was an intern for several months in their headquarters office.
