While in the navy I had the privilege of being a volunteer tutor at the base school because of this experience I decided to pursue a career in education. Currently, I hold a New Jersey Standard Elementary (K to 5) Teaching Certificate (and an expired New York State Provisional Elementary (P-6). I have seven years teaching in New York City, as a certified elementary school teacher. I taught third grade for four years, taught and staff developed instructional technology, and I was the Mathematics Instructional Coach in a PK to Grade 8 School. I have a foundation in data driven instruction and assessment, and in managing many different instructional settings. I Have co-written and co-managed a funded Annenberg Arts Partnership Grant program. I have also organized and executed parent training in a number of education related areas in efforts to improve community awareness and support of school programming and improvement of student achievement.##
