Hmm... we couldn't find that place in our database.
Are you sure it's correct?
After receiving a masters degree in urban planning from San Jose State University, I became the executive director of Garden to Table Silicon Valley. Our goal is to build a sustainable local food system model. We do this by harvesting and donating fruit from local trees, building gardens for low-income families, teaching classes at local elementary schools, changing laws on urban agriculture, and running a 1-acre farm in downtown San Jose to help fund the entire operation.
After doing all this work, I believe that healthy communities are the key to healthy cities, and that urban agriculture can help revolutionize the concept of public health. To that end, I have done extensive work in community development and organizing, leading several staff and volunteers to a common purpose, writing grants, giving presentations to a range of audiences, and learning all the nuts and bolts of non-profit management and accounting.
