People who love art as much as I do, people who are involved with disability rights, and everyone else.
I am looking for a museum-based position, working behind the scenes in research, fundraising, administration, graphic design, copywriting or marketing.
Willing and able to relocate.
Basically, I am an avid museum enthusiast and for the past few years I have worked with researchers and conservators dedicated to the preservation of paintings, books, sculptures, buildings and other artifacts. My speciality and passion is theological art in all its forms. On the flip side, I'm also interested in all things mechanical, electronic and computerized and the artistry that goes into such objects.
I am also devoted to the use of the arts as therapy and have experience working with seniors and children, developing creative arts projects as an activity assistant. More often, I have been a participant in art and drama therapy programs to augment my treatment for a developmental disability. I have learned many useful techniques that I like to share with others in my work with local autism groups.
I am highly creative, love to write and create worlds with words, art and ideas. I like working with like-minded people but work most effectively by myself. I am hyper-detail oriented. I am prone to overtly logical thinking. I can see all sides of an issue simultaneously. I love all aspects of the theater (acting, writing, set design, etc...). I love learning and would permanently sequester myself in the Library of Congress or the Smithsonian Museums if possible. My other passions include all things French, the music of Gershwin, foreign travel, and Skee Ball. Often in that order.
... people with developmental disabilities have equal access to education, employment, and happiness in general.
