Hmm... we couldn't find that place in our database.
Are you sure it's correct?

I am involved with an Irish charity called CARA Projects which is a registered NGO in Kenya. I have been travelling to Kenya as a volunteer with CARA Projects since 2009. Our latest project, which is our main focus at present, is the CARA Girls Rescue Centre, based at the edge of the Rift Valley, near Ngong, Nairobi. The Cara Girl's Rescue Centre was built by volunteers and opened in October 2012. The centre currently caters for twenty-five girls who have been referred to the rescue centre by the Kenyan Government's Children Office. These girls will all have been victims of neglect, abuse, or just being members of extremely poor families. The aim of Cara Projects is to provide vital services for the Rescue Centre and the children by providing a safe home where the children can sleep, be fed and be loved, get access to education, water and sanitation, healthcare and counseling. I am presently trying to set up a female volunteer program, which will help to fund and sustain the centre going forward. This program involves volunteers from around the world living at the centre and working with these young girls. We have built volunteer accomodation at the centre, which provides a secure and comfortable environment for these volunteers. I know that this not a volunteer for free program, but the funding raised will help to sustain the centre, and the funds raised are just as important to these young girls as the quality time spent with the volunteers.
The cost is just 70$ per week, based on a stay of approximately 2 weeks, but even this can be negotiated if a volunteer would like to stay for longer!
