After earning a Bachelor's Degree in Media Studies (Fordham University, 1986) and a Master of Fine Arts Degree in Photography (State University of New York, 1991), I was an Art instructor at Marist College (1992-1997) and (2000-2005). I then transitioned to a position as a presentation designer, (working for a company that provided graphics services to Fortune 500 corporations.
I formed my own company, Solara Media Inc. (2000) continuing to the present. Solara Media has been primarily a vehicle for me to expand to areas of interactive design and video production. Solara Media has designed and produced interactive applications for clients in the medical, manufacturing, consumer products and non-profit sectors. Major clients have included doctors, hospitals and medical device manufacturers. The company's products include video, product demonstrations, software simulations, sales presentations, educational exhibits and training applications.
Recently I have returned more earnestly to still photography. Moving back to "The City" in 2012 has been a re-discovery. In the past my graphics work or earning a living has taken precedence even though still photography has always been my first love, During my photographic career I have moved from large format landscape, medium format documentary, to presently street photography. I am drawn to unvarnished realism of the urban landscape. I find the ebb and flow of a city in flux a particularly fascinating; Watching and witnessing for those moments that define place.
