Individuals and organizations interested in supporting a local school in changing into a genuine Montessori school over the next several years. .
As an experienced ESL teacher I can tutor individuals and provide training for teachers in early childhood education. I have clerical and office management skills picked up from military service as a young man and can work as a legal assistant.
I'm an American expat settled down in Kathmandu with experience teaching in Thailand, China, Mongolia, Taiwan, South Korea and Nepal. My educational background is in the field of Community Health and Development with studies completed at the B.A. and M.A. levels, primarily in India and Nepal, including student internships in village development projects. While working in Thailand I founded a small home for children located near Mae Sot in Tak Province with the help of volunteers from around the world (https://www.facebook.com/futurelight.maesot and how it happened here -- http://asianomad.biketravellers.com/2010/04/22/village-life-with-burmese-kids/ ). I first visited Asia as a young recruit into the U.S. Navy in 1972 -- serving in the Philippines, South Korea, and the U.K. until 1978. I was a late 'bloomer' and didn't begin college until 1985 after traveling around the U.S. before realizing I wanted to go back to Asia. It is there I have finally come to feel at home on this crazy old ball of dirt we call Earth.
I think the West is lost and the U.S.A. is going 'down the tubes' so I've decided to try making it through the rest of my life here in Nepal where things are a lot simpler.
