My last job was with the New York City Health and Hospitals Corporation (HHC), a 45,000 employee public benefit organization based right here in NYC. While working for their central office for 4 years, I was part of a 7-person team managing a 5yr, $26million grant from NY State's Departments of Education and Labor.
Specifically, my task was to build several Microsoft Access and Excel databases and design accounting systems based on NYS reporting guidelines. These databases were intended to capture a massive variety of student profile data, including specific expenditures on the hundreds of employees joining the program. The grant passed a successful audit.
Was also privileged to work in Zambia where I lived for 8 years (I am originally from Kenya). I worked as an Acting Executive Director for the not-for-profit organization, Zambia National Women's Lobby Group, a woman's political organization. I helped raise the profile of the organization and increased its funding base by 25%
