Hmm... we couldn't find that place in our database.
Are you sure it's correct?
Although "the sun shines bright in my old Kentucky home," I now find myself in much more sunny California. Initially trained in cardiovascular research, I extended my study of inflammatory proteins into the context of obesity, and followed this path to UCLA to pursue postdoctoral research. I am deeply grateful for these transformative experiences, and now am exploring opportunities to impact the health of people and our communities through education and access to better nutrition.
Beyond these career aspirations, I believe strongly in living life. I need to go, and see, and do. I seek new experiences, environments, situations, people... I want to know the pain and the hardship, the joy and accomplishment, the frustration, and the satisfaction of the people around me. I don't just want to help; I want to be 'in it.' I want to go where I can be useful.
I do not know where I am going, or what I am supposed to be doing, but I do know that when I get there, I can do it. I have purpose and I have passion, and soon I trust that I will find an appropriate outlet through which to channel that for the good of my community of whomever surrounds me.
