The Saint Paul VISTA Program is an AmeriCorps VISTA program hosted through the Office of Mayor Chris Coleman. AmeriCorps VISTA (Volunteers in Service to America) is a member of the AmeriCorps family of national service programs, administered by the Corporation for National and Community Service. VISTA members are charged with erasing poverty by building capacity within their host organizations. Saint Paul VISTA members work specifically to close the education opportunity gap and support the education goals of the City of Saint Paul.
VISTA members perform "indirect service" that increases the capacity of their host organizations. There are a variety of opportunities within the Saint Paul VISTA Program, some examples of the work our VISTAs do are: program development, program evaluation, grant writing, donor development, resource recruitment, volunteer management, partnership building and collaboration. The VISTA position at each host organization is unique and offers distinct opportunities for service and professional development. To learn more about specific host organizations and corresponding VISTA positions, please contact Saint Paul VISTA Program staff for more information or visit our website – www.saintpaulvista.org.
