Individuals who volunteer want to share their talents and time and we need a person who enjoys spending time with people finding out what they enjoy doing and helping the organization get needs filled. ( We think of it like being a match maker).
The purpose of this position is to provide staff for projects, (short term, longer term, one day or ongoing), maintain contact with volunteers and keep volunteers engaged whenever possible. As volunteer coordinator you will be responsible for updating and maintaining volunteer database and collecting relevant information to will assist you in assigning appropriate volunteers to specific projects. This Volunteer Coordinator must possess and demonstrate excellence in the following areas: verbal and written communication, computer skills, problem solving and conflict resolution, leadership, public speaking, and commitment to team work and the volunteer who is giving of their time and talents. ( The person who was doing this role is very willing to stay engaged as an assistant but cannot dedicate the time that he was previously able.)

This is an unpaid, on going volunteer position. The position is part-time with an expectation of appox 10 hours of work per week but acknowledging that there are peaks and valleys of time based on special projects.
