ENH's Community Literacy Program is looking for doctors (retired or active) to volunteer as ESL tutors during the month of January for 2 weeks. Responsibilities will specifically include tutoring foreign doctors in the English language, conversation, and medicinal translations. Tutoring will run Monday-Friday from 9AM - 12PM; however, scheduling accommodations can be made if necessary - we are very flexible!
For more information or to set up an orientation, please contact:
Susana Ortiz - [[tel:312.432.2257|312.432.2257]] or sortiz@eriehouse.org
Justin Hochstetler - [[tel:312.432.2254|312.432.2254]] or justinh@eriehouse.org
Our office is located at 1347 W. Erie St. and is open Monday through Friday from 9AM - 5PM and Saturday from 9AM - 1PM.
To begin, volunteers will need to attend an orientation. We typically host orientations on Fridays and Saturdays at 10 AM; however, if those days/times are not feasible, we can discuss another time that will work best for volunteers' schedule. During orientation, volunteers will register as a volunteer tutor, choose the subject areas of which they are interested in tutoring, view a film about our organization, tour our facility, and discuss training options. Orientations typically last between 1-2 hours.
