Volunteer Opportunity Description
Habitat for Humanity of Sonoma County is seeking a ReStore Development VISTA who will enhance and build upon our existing ReStore operations. This individual's hard work will translate into more families and communities served through the increased revenue generated. This will be accomplished through developing and implementing sustainable marketing and outreach strategies, volunteer recruitment, as well as donor engagement, tracking and recognition plans. Research of best practices and standards within the ReStore community will be key as the affiliate moves towards increasing the size and scope of its operations.
Member Activities Include:
1. Developing a ReStore-specific volunteer recruitment, orientation, training and recognition plan that increases the amount of ongoing volunteers serving in the ReStore. Manage a ReStore volunteer directory database to capture volunteer data.
2. Develop marketing and outreach strategies/materials designed to increase visibility of the ReStore in the community and increase unrestricted revenue as a result of increased purchases and donations from private individuals. Developing a media directory database. Developing materials which are relevant to the various media outlets sourced in the media directory database.
3. Develop a ReStore donor outreach plan to increase recurring donations. Creating a ReStore donor directory database of local businesses and community partners that would be ideal for donors.
4. Craft new or updated ReStore procedures and policies to be in line, with standard ReStore operating procedures that have been identified as best practices.
