Pet Rescue Alliance is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that rescues animals from high-kill shelters and life threatening situations in Texas and adopts them out within the state as well as the DC Metro area. Once an adopter is interested and commits to a dog, we transport the pup up to their forever home. Unfortunately, we have very few fosters in the actual DC Metro area, which is hurting our abilities to rescue animals in a big way. We need loving foster homes asap! Fosters are the backbone of our organization- we cannot pull a pet from a put-to-sleep list or shelter without them. We are entirely foster-based, we can only commit to rescuing pets if we have a temporary home to put them in- that's where you can come in. Not only do you provide a place for the animal to live, but simply by showing it love, kindness, and support you can completely change their lives. You help them adjust to living in a home, you are the main point of contact for future adopters because you are the person who knows the animal best, you are the person who saved that animal from a terrible fate.
We are not a huge rescue- we are very tight knit. You would not get lost in the shuffle, but instead become an integral part of our PRA family. Commitments can last as long as you have available- we work with you.
We provide veterinary care as well as food for the dog. You provide a place to sleep, love, and feel safe. Think you're up to the task? We hope so. Please help save a life today.
