Cheetah Conservation Fund is seeking an outgoing, organized Communications Volunteer to assist the Development Department with graphic design and marketing, to ensure the implementation and sustainability of Cheetah Conservation Fund programs.
The volunteer will assist the Communications Manager on, but not limited to, the following tasks:
Develop content for social media, blog entries and communications outreach including but not limited to: Facebook, Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram
Organize CCF photo database
Assist with development and design of print and electronic media (posters, brochures, newsletters, etc.)
Development of donor materials, presentations, and mailings
Help prepare the mid-year fundraising campaign and donor communications
Desired qualities and experience:
Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel) and Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign)
Well-versed in social media platforms
Strong interpersonal skills and communication skills
Creative graphic ideas
Excellent coordinating skills, positive and energetic attitude
A desire to start a career in the non-profit world
Currently lives in the DC Metro area and is a currently enrolled student
Currently enrolled in a 4-year university or master's degree program in the communications field (Communications, Journalism, Public Relations, Advertising, Graphic Design, etc.)
Prior experience with databases, Excel, development work and/or fundraising is a big plus
Experience in website development and e-newsletter publishing
We are a small office, so flexibility and a positive attitude are essential.
You will work closely with the Communications Manager, Constituent Relationship Manager and Director of Operations, and the volunteer opportunity will give you first-hand experience with non-profit fundraising operations. Ideally, the Fundraising and Communications volunteer will spend 2 full days per week, with a break for lunch, from April 15th to Aug 19th. Dates are flexible, depending on your availability. We are flexible with remote work and scheduling. There is potential to continue your volunteer work through the year.
